Anthony DiNozzo So Kiss Me Goodbye. Honey, Im Gonna Make It Out Alive. So Kiss Me Goodbye. I Can See The Venom In Your Eyes. Goodbye. Snakes On A Plane - Cobra Starship. The bright red Mustang pulled up outside the quaint household, it's white racing stripes glimmered in the setting sun. The italian pulled himself out of the car, taking time to rest on his frame and remove his precious shades. Orbs gazed at "La Casa Di Gibbs" and sighed. It was a touchy subject but he needed some outside advice. Sure, Gibbs was his boss and always would be but he hoped that outside the work environment, he could talk to the guy: man to man rather than king to subject. He knew all about Kelly though Gibbs rarely spoke of it. Tony had gained a child - not lost it. For once, that wasn't what was bothering him. It was Jeanne. She was back messing with his mind again and he wasn't sure what to do. He was trying ever so hard to keep things professional and he was managing quite well. Just.. returning back to the apartment, alone. He was even missing the plots of his movies thinking about her. He hadn't realised in his thoughts that he'd travelled from his car to the front door, fingers tapping that soli wood frame. He was casually dressed so it didn't feel like a work-thing... especially to him.

L. Jethro Gibbs When Push comes to shove. You taste what you're made of. You might bend til you break.
Gibbs had been working on the boat and he guessed Shannon wasn't home. He came up and answered the door, he saw that it was DiNozzo."Something on your mind?"he asked as he stepped back from the door so that the Italian could enter. He knew something had to be on his mind or he wouldn't just show up at his door. It was very unDiNozzo like and Gibbs knew it.
He glanced towards the man as he made his way towards his living room and towards the basement. He always seemed to find more peace in the basement, away from all of the animals. He was okay with them most of the time but for now he was similarily distracted. He made his way down the stairs grabbing a glass of bourbon and pouring one for DiNozzo as well.

Tont was quite shocked to see Gibbs standing there at the door. He half-expected to be greeted by the lovely Shannon - as Gibbs was usually working away on his boat! He pulled a face when Gibbs asked him that question: there was always something on DiNozzo's mind! In Tony's sane world, it would normally be food, women or some wild idea on how to attack McGee when he least expected it. This time however, his mind was filled with just 2 women... and one of them was only 5! I think you could say that!
He ploiely thanked him for letting him in before following the man down into his safehouse - that dusty old basement. He hadn't been down here for a while now. Last time was during a case and Gibbs had JUST came back from his "retirement" in Mexico. Tony didn't think of it as retirement though - that was a dirty tainted word - more of a "mini-break" shall we say? It still had that dusty old wooden smell, mixed with the strong smell of Bourbon. Boss, you should get an air freshener or something in here. It smells like wood and... alcohol. It made him smirk when Gibbs poured him a glass of the poision as he ended his statement. It was strong stuff, the type to pierce your chords for mere seconds before it had a chance to fumigate your stomach from the inside out, though it wasn't too bad after the first fatal sip!
Tony felt himself pacing before he'd even spoken. Im guessing you know about the case? McGeek could never keep his mouth shut.... You know? Im fine - really. At work, the evidence and the questioning is all fine. I can stomach that and get on with it professionally. It's when I've got time to think about it, you know? Alone watching tv after work... He felt himself rambling on as he usually did before getting to the point. He didn't need Gibbs' infamous stare of even his words to get him to shut up and get to the point - he was used to that eery silence by now! I need a little... I dunno... advice maybe? You've dealt with personal stuff on the job right? When we found Pacci... like that. And when you were back in the Marines. How did you... you know, keep it together? His lips met with the burning liquid, knocking his head slightly back to get a good mouthful. The jerking movement helped it go down way faster and less burning! He had to reassure his boss that he was fine on the case - more than fine when his mind was busy. It was after-hours that tortured him.

L. Jethro Gibbs When Push comes to shove. You taste what you're made of. You might bend til you break.
Gibbs shot Tony a look as he drank sipped on his bourbon. "Lots of things get personal DiNozzo" he stated as he set his cup down and grabbed a sander ignoring his comment about the sawdust and alcohol. Rule #10 is never get personally involved in the case, but I have a feeling its too late for that. Even I have issues with it. But they happen." Tony was going to have to get used to that. It was part of being a team leader, things tended to get personal at times and one had to learn to work around them.
He put his sander to his boat and began sanding with the grain. "You can do this" he stated hoping that he didn't have to come over there and hit DiNozzo on the side of the head for a wakeup call. Tony had been team leader before when he took a vacation to Mexico. He was dancing around Tony's direction of how he dealt with personal things. Mostly because he had issues with dealing with them and he didn't know what to tell him. Jethro just knew that Tony could too. Gibbs placed alot of faith in Tony when he gave him the team.
Jethro just had a way of knowing when people were ready for something and this was definitely something that Tony was ready for whether he knew it or not. Gibbs narrowed his eyes because of the light but looked towards Tony never the less. "You have to pull yourself together first THEN you can pull your team together and get the job done" he added quite bluntly, mostly because that was almost a moot point in the matter, a little common sense never hurt.

Tony sighed lightly to himself. He knew things would get personal eventually but his first case?! Plus, could anything be more personal then Jeanne turning up with a kid that could be his?!
It wasn't all that simple to NOT get involved now. There's a kid involved now Boss. It's not like I can just forget everything that's happened, can I? Not when, there's.. a piece of me there, hanging on my leg! Things are different now. Obviously the case comes first - always will. Have you ever done something you wish you hadn't? Something you wanted to forget but you couldn't? To have it stare you in the face, making you remember every... little... detail. He obviously knew nothing about Gibbs' affair with the late Director but it showed the two guys were more similiar than they thought!
He flashed a small smile. It secretly meant a lot to him that his boss trusted him with the team that was once his own. Ofcourse he was getting on with the case; McGee and Harkness could vouch for him on that - though he wasn't his usual self. That would change soon enough though. DiNozzo would soon return to bug the hell outta "Probie" and boss him around like the good old days, like nothing had changed!
He knew deep down that Gibbs was right. He was a natural born leader but being thrown in the deep end of the pool was making it hard to learn how to swim! I know Boss... He looked to the other sander lying on the table. He COULD go help his boss with the boat but he knew the outcome of that scenario. He'd mess up, as usual, and he'd get headslapped, as per usual! He noticed the name on the side of the boat. He knew it was for his daughter; word spreads like fire around the office if you're not careful - even Gibbs couldn't avoid the doppelganger!

"We all have regrets DiNozzo, its how you deal with them that is the key" he stated. He had many regrets, one of the biggest was not being able to protect his daughter, so many years ago. Another was as they say his affair with the director the one Shannon never found out about. He regretted lots of things along those lines, but he didn't share them with Tony. He liked to keep his actual experiences silent, even when giving advice. "Its never easy" he stated almost rather bluntly.
He smirked looking to Tony. "You can handle Jean, DiNozzo can handle anyone, that is unless I am wrong." he figured that might be the kick in the rear that Tony needed, feeding Tony's ego was always a a good idea when all else failed. of course it did with most everyone but especially with DiNozzo. He looked up from his sanding, to see what Tony had to say.

He didn't exactly regret anything with Jeanne, secretly. He just hoped he could have ended it an easier way rather than the mess he made. He didn't know what made him say "No" at the elevator. He had been thinking with his head and not his heart. He knew it was best for his career but it hurt like hell. Even now, it still stung.
He listened carefully to his boss' words. It wasn't supposed to be easy ofcourse or he would've already had his head sorted by now! Oh no... nothing's ever easy!
He heard Gibbs' statement, knowing what his boss was up to. Ofcourse he would fall for it though, being the usual oblivious Tony DiNozzo. Well... yeah! I can handle it Boss. Don't worry about a thing! It fed his ego pretty well! Things would be different if he had to look into those big green eyes again though...

He looked to the team leader and shook his head. "You just have to do your job DiNozzo, Its all I can tell you." he said tossing his sander back in amongst his tools in his toolbox. He fumbled through looking for his chisel. He sighed looking to Tony. He did care about the team. It was just that dealing with some of the things in his life had made him having an odd way of showing it. He narrowed his eyes still towards the light. "If you are going to continue to stand where I can't look you in the eye, you might as well not try having a conversation" he said directly trying to tell DiNozzo to move.
His mind was still reeling with Kelly, it wasn't something that would ever go away. "You can't change the past but you can fix the future before it fixes you" he said knowingly. He started chiseling into the side of the boat a design of sorts. He was artsy when he wanted to be. He couldn't get Kelly of his mind, no matter how much he tried, the boat and the conversation weren't really helping much either.

Tony nodded as Gibbs spoke. The man had a way with words, even if they were few in selection. He listened to the words carefully, letting them sink in before he returned the speech. That's all I know how to do, Boss. He wasn't sur whether that even made sense as it flowed out but it sounded right in his head!
Eyes watched as the old man changed tools. Gibbs was always defensive when it came to his team members, especially the guys! McGee was always given grief about his dorkiness, Tony tried not to laugh or smirk when Gibbs called him ElfLord. He didn't mind that it was Tony who christened the nerd with it, Gibbs seemed to like it! Tony and Gibbs had one of those awkward father/son relationships. Sure Gibbs would lay into him like any protective father but the care was still there... as he did now for example. Although on the outside, it looked like DiNozzo was a huge pain in the ass but Tony knew - or thought he knew - that Gibbs wasn't all hard-exteriored as he liked his people to think! He suddenly snapped out of his thought when his boss addressed him. He laughed before scooting around the other edge of the boat. Sorry Boss!
He watched as Gibbs seemed focused on his boat as he spoke. Although Tony could be oblivious sometimes, he knew Kelly played on his boss' mind more than once. He ran his fingers through his tousled mane, debating on changing the subject for both himself and the main man. So... you dying to come back yet, Director? He figured being director would be pretty boring! All you did was speak on MTAC and annoy the shit outta the Team Leader. Ofcourse that isn't how he thought of Gibbs but he knew Jenny used to piss him off quite a few times back in the day!
((OOC: Sorry its lame, had like no muse!))

Gibbs looked to Tony and raised a brow as he spoke about wanting to come back. "Do I look like I have a choice DiNozzo?" he retorted. Of Course he would rather be the team leader than pushing papers behind a desk as a figure head and dealing politics with the other agencies. His version of politics was shoot the person in the wrong. Amazingly enough though the FBI and CIA directors will still alive, thats probably only because Gibbs still had Jenny looking over his shoulder these days.
He didn't happen to speak again, at least not for a few moments. The aging man looked over his boat pausing a moment as he didn't want to disturb his masterpiece at work. He was obviously in thought, but what wasn't about to come to the surface anytime soon. They were his own thoughts that had now nothing to do with Kelly, but instead the former female director came to mind hearing DiNozzo use that word."I told you to only address me as director when you need to. Speaking of which I have one of those political meetings next week, and I am taking two of your agents from you for a few days next week. Ziva and McGee are going they just don't know it yet. So you better let them know." he stated a moment as he peered back down at his boat.
He went back to the etching, as he waited for DiNozzo to speak on what he had said. He hated taking agents from the main team but they were about the only ones he trusted. He would have taken DiNozzo but he was still needed back at work to oversee things. "This means you are acting director while I am away. Leave the place in one piece when I come back? he added knowing DiNozzo could make a mess of things in a hurry but since he was next in line. That made him the acting director while Gibbs was away.

Tony laughed when Gibbs spoke. Well... I suppose not Boss! He shrugged. It was a harmless question to ask but he got a usual cold answer back, but he was used to this by now ofcourse! Gibbs only ever spoke to Abby and Kate in a positive tone, McGee and himself however got the backlash!
It had felt strange calling him Director infact, he too was used to it being Jenny's job so DiNozzo was used to called Gibbs "boss". He nodded as his boss spoke of borrowing some agents. No problems. Im sure Kate and I can handle things here... A boss-less day of bothering Caitlin - sounded like fun!
His mouth formed a little 'o' as Gibbs' spoke of the stand-in job. Promotion again? Boss, it's all happening so fast! He joked playfully, one hand on his chest as if he was flattered. So he was gonna be pushing papers all day instead. Fun fun fun! He pulled a shocked face when he would be accused of sabotage. Me? Mess things up? Never!

He turned his attention back to Tony as he spoke, he wasn't getting any carving done at this rate, it required too much attention so he put the chisel down. "The paperwork better be neat, I don't need to REDO my job when I get back" he mused at the man standing there in his basement. "You have done enough mess with things going on as it is" he stated not going on with things that he could be going on with. He sighed a moment and narrowed his eyes in his direction.
He got up from what he was doing. "Lets go get something to eat, I could use some real food" he stated, knowing that Shannon wasn't home in order to cook so he would have to settle for macaroni and cheese if he were to do the cooking. He came over and slapped tony lightly on the head if only for good measure to make sure he was paying attention. It wasn't as hard as his ones usually were. It was more of the one he gave to Ziva that still had a bit of a sting but was much softer. He smirked as he walked towards the stairs.

Tony laughed when Gibbs brought up paperwork. He knew it was Gibbs' pet hate - DiNozzo's heiroglyphics. He wasn't the neatest of writers and always ended up redoing his findings from cases. No problems Boss. It'll look like... McGee wrote it, it'll be so neat! Probably because he'd try to get McGee to do it for him, sneaky sneaky! he pulled a face when Gibbs spoke about messes he was already in. You know me, I'll worm my way out of them like I usually do!
Tony flashed a smile towards his boss, food was his major! There's an awesome Italians around the block. They've got everything from pizza and pasta to burgers and hotdogs... it's pretty americanized but itsjust... beautiful! He made the action with his hand towards his mouth in typical italian style. He was an expert on food and all!

He turned to Tony and just shook his head as his thoughts were turning to Jennifer and what had happened in his office. He also looked back on the elevator. He still had to talk to Shannon. He still didnt' know how he was going to approach her about it. He clambered up the stairs to his yellow mustang. He climbed in the car. He clicked the door lock open for DiNozzo as he started up the car.
He went silent as he sat in his car. He smirked a moment as he heard the engine. This was about the only thing that he cared about outside his boat. Talking inanimate objects of course. Well technically a car and boat both moved but that was beside the point anyway. He turned to DiNozzo pointing to the GPS. "Directions" he stated simply. DiNozzo wasn't the only one in a messed up relationship, it seemed. Gibbs seemingly seemed to be wracking his brain.
He still didnt' let it be known that his mind was on that day in the office, he knew Tony was already suspicious he didn't need to know what really happened behind closed doors. He would have his head if it was circulated anyway at the moment. He was still lost at how to approach Shannon. He knew it was going to break her heart.

He followed right behind Gibbs, getting into the passenger seat. He looked about the dashboard. Not a bad looking Mustang but his old one was much better - before the bombing ofcourse. God, he missed that car! He snapped out of memories as Gibbs ordered directions from him. Go straight on and take theee... forth left.
He sat in silence for a second then remembered his accusation outside of Gibbs' office. He reckoned something was going down in there and in DiNozzo's mind, it was usually Xrated! Hey boss... you seen Pulp Fiction? Well it's about this these gangsters who have to steal this suitcase from their boss but their boss asked one of them, Vincent to take his wife Mia out... things get a little messy... also a scene where a guy rapes a guy... not exactly comfortable to watch... He rambled slightly. He knew what he was getting at ut wasn't sure how to approach him about it!
