Shannon nodded. "No problem... I just haven't been around NCIS for a few months..." she looked away from his eyes, wondering why she'd said anything? Anyone an NCIS KNEW that Gibbs was the old TL for the main team! Damn it Shannon... You can do better. "Hm... How long ago did you move here?" She asked looking around.

'CAPTAIN' JACK HARKNESScause this has been building since i have been breathing Not to long ago. Couple months. It'd be more empty still, but it came furnished.
He shrugged. He wasn't much for the furniture-buying, house-decorating thing. The less he had to do with it, the better. As long as he could put his blankets, pillows, and laptop somewhere, he was happy. Speaking of his laptop, it let off a ding a moment later. He almost entirely forgot she was there. Something new hadn't come up on Gray in years. And, no offense to her, but he was family. She... wasn't. He leaped off the stool, holding up a finger for her to wait a moment.
He snapped the screen open, the lead popping up as he'd programed it to. A credit card, in the area, registered to a Gray Paladin. Gray was an uncommon name, though, despite the different last name, so with flying fingers he brought up the, rather small, record he could find on this man.
His heart nearly stopped.
It was him, it had to be. Older, perhaps, but the face was unmistakably his. He put the laptop down before he dropped it. There was a moment of silence, at least to him, before a surprised, relieved smile flickered onto his face as two words escaped on a breath.
He's alive...

Shannon chuckled. "Ah Fun. My place wasn't quiet so easy to furnish." It still looked like a hurricane hit it and hard. The cats loved it, but still. She smiled amused. Then the lap top went off and she turned to watch him. She could see the suprise and... Something else. "Who's still alive." She asked quietly. She reached out and hand to touch him.
{Back where Gary is.}
His computer dinged at him and he saw someone was searching him. Gary Paladin. Shit. His fingers flew over the keyboard as he traced who ever it was following him. His jaw dropped as he pulled up a file of a Jack Harkness. His brother... The one who abandond him... He was looking for him? What the hell?

'CAPTAIN' JACK HARKNESScause this has been building since i have been breathing He nearly flinched away, not wanting to say, and for a moment, he even withdrew into himself, guarded, and not exactly caring to hide it. But, then, he looked down at the ground, hating that he'd even been tempted. He didn't like keeping secrets, and she genuinely looked like she cared. Which, really, said quite a bit considering they hardly knew each other. She deserved to know, if only for that reason. He waited a moment, taking a screenshot to save to his computer before closing the program, not trusting it was anywhere as protected as the ones at work.
My younger brother. Gray. It's... a long story.
He didn't really want to talk about it, he never did. It was the worst moment in his life, and it was something that, no matter what way you looked at it, he was to blame. And he hated it. So, he avoided it whenever possible. But, if she asked, he'd answer. He took one look at the computer, tempted to go follow up on this new discovery, but instead, he clicked the lid shut again. No, not tonight. It was late, and he had company. If he could tell anything, he could tell that she would understand if he kicked her out for this, but he wouldn't. He didn't care if it was understandable or not, it was still rude.
-- Gray, not Gary --

Shannon nodded. Ah... Younger brother... Now things made sence. She wasn't gonna push. She had learned long ago about not pushing an NCIS agent. If he didn't want to talk he didn't have to. She looked around. "Well I'm thinking you don't want to have someone you hardly know around... I'll go." She said getting up and grabbing the chocolate. There was no reason to leave THAT behind.

'CAPTAIN' JACK HARKNESScause this has been building since i have been breathing Unlike Gibbs, he didn't get angry when people pushed the topic. Exasperated, sometimes. He definitely felt cornered. But never angry. He took a few quick steps and grabbed her arm, gently. He didn't want to hurt her, just stop her.
No, it's fine. Really. It's.. it's been years. One more night won't hurt. You can stay... if you want.
He wasn't entirely sure if he wanted her there or not. He sort of didn't, so he could follow this up, but he also did. He wasn't entirely sure he wouldn't just break down and cry in joy, sorrow, a mix of emotions. He would be able to hold it off as long as she was here. He wanted that, he didn't want to cry. He didn't feel he had the right.

Shannon stopped, when he grabbed her and turned to look at him. her green eyes were guarded. "It's not a matter of weather or not I want to stay... It's weather you can handle waiting one more night." Her voice was soft, but firm. "So I will go." She said pulling away and walking out the door. She'd had enough of male drama. Stupid men. She thought as she walked down to her car.
{AT GRAY'S HOUSE}
"Why the hell is he still LOOKING for me? Dammit." he growled to himself before grabbing a nice coat and racing outside for a long walk... Just incase big bro decided to visit... he wouldn't be home.

'CAPTAIN' JACK HARKNESScause this has been building since i have been breathing Shannon!
He didn't bother running after her, though. He didn't know her well enough to feel like he should. If he did, it would only serve to make him feel like a stalker. At least stalking Gray, at the moment, was legal. It was called solving a case.
He didn't intend on going to find Gray. Not tonight. He wanted to, of course, but he knew better than to rush in head first. Instead, he spent the rest of the night skimming the information, writing anything important down, and figuring out a game plan until he fell asleep staring at the screen.

Shannon had heard his call, but she was stubborn, and had driven away. Heading home to her cats. Who of course latched onto her.
Gray went home late and fell asleep on the couch... Ignoring all problems. at least trying to.
