'CAPTAIN' JACK HARKNESScause this has been building since i have been breathing He's alive.
That was still the only thought going through his head. He'd been up early, early to the office as a result, but he couldn't focus. He tried working on paperwork, casework, anything. But all he could think was the same thing he'd been thinking since last night after Shannon had left.
So, as per usual, he'd gone for a stroll around the navy yard to try and get his mind to switch topics, or at least get farther than "He's alive". It was great and all, but a generally unhelpful statement once repeated over and over and over again. He went back up to the squadroom, the walk having not helped much at all. He noticed one of his agents, Lily, was finally in. Not that she was late; No, time just stood still for him recently. He felt like he'd been waiting hours. He stopped in front of her desk, looking far more serious than he ever really did.
Lily. I need your help.

Lilly had come in on time, and had been checking emails when her TL came up. "With what?" Why was he... Well serious. That was... Wrong. He was never serious looking! Alarm bells were going off. Hey. She may have been a screaming beoch but she did actually care about people in NCIS... She frowned at him. "And How?" She asked quietly.

'CAPTAIN' JACK HARKNESScause this has been building since i have been breathing Jack hesitated for a moment. He didn't like seeking help when it came to Gray. He had been the one to lose his brother, it was his job to get him back At least, that's how he saw it. As much as he hated admitting it, though, he needed help for this scenario. Gray had been left in a bad neighborhood, and, as much as it would be nice to believe he'd been found by a nice, respectable family, the chance was very, very slim. It was much more likely a family that delved into the life of gangs or drugs had helped him to survive.
It's complicated. But, someone I was very close to when I was young has turned up. He'd disappeared years ago, I thought he was dead, though there was nothing conclusive until now to say he was or wasn't. It was a bad area, though, and I'm going to need back up, just in case.
It was obvious there was much more to it than "someone he was close to" that had "disappeared". He wasn't denying her the opportunity to ask questions, and she should know he'd answer. He answered every question, provided he had an answer to reply with. The only questions he didn't answer were those from suspects and ones that he wasn't, by law, allowed to answer. He turned to his desk to grab a few things, clearly intent on heading out immediately. He turned back to face when he was ready.
And you tell no one. This isn't an official case, and I'd like to keep it that way.

Lilly watched him. Who ever it was, he was more then just someone from the past. That was obvious. Well to her anyways. But she was insiteful to other people. "I can do that... But i'm going to need more information on who this guy is. I don't like running blind." She said softly as she grabbed her things. At his last words she gave him one of her rare smiles. "Tell them what?" Ok so this was a no tell. Ok easily done.
She waited to follow him, hoping shed get more info on the guy so she at least wouldn't be walking into something with out any information. "Whats the guys name?" There... Easy thing to answer right?

SIR GRAY BELINORyou should know by now that my life is smoke and mirrors There isn't much to tell. It took me years to find out he was alive.
He replied. It might sound vague, but it was true. There was only an address and a phone number, neither of which might even be current for all Jack knew. But it was worth a try, considering how long it had been. When she asked Gray's name, he had reached the elevator and he hesitated, forcing himself to appear blank before he turned around and pressed the button for the main floor.
He goes by Gray Paladin, but he was born Gray Harkness.

Lilly nodded. Long lost person. Interesting. She moved gracefully beside him and bairly paid attention to his hesitation, even if she did note it. She leaned against the wall. "Gray Harkness, Gray Paladin. Interesting. I'm thinking he thinks of himself as some sort of holy worrior, or just likes the name." she said more trying to sourt things out than anything else.

'CAPTAIN' JACK HARKNESScause this has been building since i have been breathing Can't give you insight on that one. Chances are, he's changed.
He replied, stepping out of the elevator as it stopped, almost surprised she hadn't commented on the obvious connection; the last name. But, he supposed, that was probably why he'd gone to her. He didn't have a feel for his team quite yet, but he'd figured her out as trustworthy a while back.
He slipped into the driver's seat of the car and stuck the keys in the ignition, starting it up as he buckled himself in. He tended to drive a little on the fast side, but nowhere near how fast it was rumored Ziva and Gibbs drove. And he certainly didn't jump through the lanes no matter what their direction.

She nodded just going through all the facts. No she wouldn't say anything about him being Jack's brother. She'd be fine with it no mater what. She slid into the car and buckled up, still thinking. "Did you get any more information? Or Am i gonna have to run a feild annalasis?" Her specialty, scoping out the bad guys on the fly. She'd gotten out of more then one bad situation that way.

'CAPTAIN' JACK HARKNESScause this has been building since i have been breathing Couldn't find anything. Just an address, a phone number, a name. Not even a credit card number, and you know how poorly those are protected these days.
He replied, beginning to drive. He knew that the little info meant that either Gray was a bit of a hermit, or he knew how to cover his tracks and keep them covered. The second was much more likely, considering their neighbourhood growing up. He didn't like it, but it was the truth.
Chances are, he or someone he knows is responsible, covering tracks. Whatever tracks they may be.
He tried to keep his voice neutral, but a hint of sadness over the situation slipped in. He'd hoped it would be a happy reunion. That Gray would be happy to see him, they'd hug, catch up, and be a family again. It had always been too much to hope for, he knew that, but it had been his hope nonetheless. And this was it probably being crushed.

Lilly nodded. Right. Then the guy was smart. Probably a genious, hopefully not a hermit, but she doubted it. He’d changed his name, he probably hated the name Harkness. She’d figured it out about who he was, and wasn’t surprised. She ran through everything she could in silence, until she heard the sadness in his voice.
For big bad Lilly it actually hurt to hear that. For someone who’s family is the most important thing she understood how he could feel. While some of her family survived two of them were clinically insane, one was handycapt, and the other couldn’t live with her mother. With out thinking lilly put a hand out and touched her shoulder. She generally thought before doing, unless it was a dare then she’d do it with out any thought to the consiquences. ”I’m sure it’ won’t be horrible.”
