For once she had asked for some personal space and told him to sleep at his own house. Everything was just building upon itself rapidly with dangerous repercussions to her. She needed some time alone and when she crawled into bed that night it was a horrible decision. She had been having trouble sleeping lately, but with no comforting presence, it was even more difficult. She tossed and turned for a greater portion of the night, but soon got up and paced her apartment. Sighing, she gave up and went to go change into something light and cool before heading out the door and to one of her security officers' cars. She told them to take her to Director Gibbs' house and they obligingly did so.
Presently, Jen was sitting in his modest and bare living room, legs pulled up underneath her and a mug of coffee in her hands. She stared off into the distance, not really paying attention to anything; just enjoying the dark and silent of the night. Her mind was plenty occupied with business, personal, the future and most importantly her baby. A few weeks ago she had an appointment with her doctor, but Jethro had been busy and was unable to attend, so she had yet to find the time to tell him something important. That is to say, IF he wanted to know.
Jen's hair was wavy and fell over her right shoulder, catching a little moonlight and street lights from outside. Her arm rested on the arm of the couch but hung on to the mug carefully, her left hand deciding to rest on her protruding stomach, a tick she had picked up over the last few months. She was at ease in his house, whether he was with her or not...

He came home from work, as he had been there super late. He saw the red head curled up on his couch. He put his keys no the foyer table and came into the "stoic" living room. He spoke to announce himself, as not to make her jump a mile high. "You feelin' alright?" he asked. Possibly knowing the answer already. He had given her space like she asked and for once not argued about it. He needed it as well to be honest with himself. He had come to terms with the situation and had been able to push all his worries behind for the time being. Now that the anniversary of Kelly's death, and her birthday had passed, he was feeling a bit more on the ups.
He came into the room and stood beside the couch. He handed her a blanket and covered her legs up with it. "You look exhausted, come to bed" he stated gently. He kissed the side of her face before sitting in the chair to face her, knowing full well she wasn't just going to leap up from where she was. She never did and he didn't expect her to either. His couch wasn't that comfortable, it was old.

Jenny Shepard I know it's late too. But I've really missed you I'd stand here through the night If it would change your mind Her mind didn't want to acknowledge his presence and kept her focus solely on the piece of wood situated in one of his walls, her eyes partially glazed over and her face shrouded in darkness due to her back facing the light. Her lips were only slightly parted, while her legs were probably falling asleep, but she didn't have a care in the world. The second time he spoke and the soft, warm presence on her cheek was when she realized he was there. Jen blinked her eyes a few moments and slowly turned her head to face him. Her eyebrows knitted momentarily, my running double-time. "Why-" she cleared her throat. "Why are you still in clothes?" she asked curiously before taking a small sip of her chilled coffee. Jen looked down into the mug and made a face until she decided to glare at it, upset that it had grown cold before she got to truly enjoy it. She brought her shaded gaze up to meet his lit one, awaiting an answer, her body moving slightly to ease her aching muscles. She stretched her neck briefly, hand rubbing her stomach unconsciously. Never would she have guessed that it would be so strange allowing a being to grow within her; the changes that occurred in her body every day and every week.

"I literally just walked in from work. We are short a few agents. I'm helping with some of the case load. If I stare at anymore profiles, I am going insane. 17 different sets of fingerprints on one knife. Too many people to talk to. I got more in the morning, didn't feel like spending the night at work." he said shaking his head. He had a fresh coffee he hadn't even drank yet, he took her cup from her and dumped out the cold coffee. He brought her some hot stuff with cream in it like she liked it. It was half of his. But she looked like she needed it.
"You never did answer my question"he pointed out as he let out a yawn. He came over and stole a kiss before her headed to bed. "Feel free to join me, my couch is like sleeping on thorns babe"he stated. He was going to have to be in early and it was late.

"You're not suppose to be working on cases, hun," Jen said casually, a smile flitting across her face. Her smile widened at the drink being pressed into her hands. Her head dipped down and sniffed at it, glad he had supernatural powers and used them for good; for her. She took a small sip, pleased he had added what she liked in her coffee. Her head moved back up to watch his with wide eyes. "Hmm? Wha- oh. Eh. Tired, uncomfortable...and agitated," she answered, hand reaching up to assist in stretching her neck upon the base of her spine.
A yawn chose the moment directly following his last sentence to escape from her parted lips, her face contorting to meet the requirements for a full yawn. She looked at him before taking a long sip of her coffee and standing up. Jen groaned at the pains that shot through her body, thanks to sitting for so long in that position and arched back before placing the mug on a kitchen counter. "Hey!" she called up the stairs, playfully. "I'm comin'," she informed him, grinning at his shaded face before ascending the stairs.

He let her catch upon the stairs. He was just glad to see she was coming around again rather than hiding like she had been. He opened the door to his bedroom and waited for her at the top of the stairs. He tossed a smile in her direction as he startt to reply to what she had said earlier. "Neither were your but I remember a few occasions, you sticking your head into our cases." he added. He grabbed an extra pillow from the linen closet, he figured she might need a few, he was hoping it would help her sleep.
His bedroom was very simple, just the bed night stand and linens were in the room. His closet is where his dresser was hidden, mostly because it was older and falling apart and was easier to get to in the closet. He placed the pillows on the bed. "I gotta pop in the shower, you join me or wait in the bed, its rather comfy." he wanted her to sleep as best she could, so if following him into the steaming hot shower was the best thing then he would let her. If sleeping was on her mind he wasn't about to stop her. He was to tired to argue about much of anything at the moment. (When I am prego I sleep with at least 2 more pillows lol)

She continued to grin at him, nodding her agreement and sitting on the edge of his bed momentarily. Jen ran her fingers through her hair, glad that there weren't any snarls presently, her mind slowly wandering again. Her green eyes moved up to gaze into his as she contemplated both options for a few minutes, eventually noticing that he had left. She allowed him a few minutes to undress and start his shower before slipping into the bathroom herself. She sat down on the toliet seat, silently watching his shadow behind the curtain, relishing in the slowly accumulating steam in the room.
Jen thought carefully about what she could say, how to say it, and what she needed to say. Her lips parted for her tongue to run over them before they spoke of their own accord. "A few weeks ago Ducky and I went to my doctor, Jethro. We...discovered something...important," a sweet and happy smile spread across her face before breaking out into another yawn.

He paused to look to Jenny for a moment. "Your going to keep it to yourself then I suppose?" he mused at her. He was a little unedged that she hadn't told him whatever news it happened to be. A look of concern crossed his face when he had mentioned Ducky going to the doctor with her. Either she just had either refused to deal with him at that point or something was wrong and Ducky already knew about. He hated to think it was the first reason, though Ducky was a good man and he knew the ME to take care of things when he couldn't be there.
He didn't say much of anything as he sat down beside her on the bed playfully pushing her back on the bed and covering her face with a pillow and just letting it sit there. He gave her one of those playful smirks. He was trying to not worry but it never worked out so well. He usually just got childish.

She looked at him and shook her head before speaking again. "No, I've been keeping it from you for these few weeks so I feel guilty and am going to tell you now," a grin spread across her face. A giggle was heard while the woman was pushed back against the simple sheets and Jenny allowed the pillow to rest against her face for a short time. She eventually pulled the pillow off and tossed it to the top of the bed for later use, turning to lay on her side. She smiled at him and finally elaborated, noticing the look in his bright eyes. "Ducky wasn't busy so I asked him to join me; he was only too happy to escort me, as he tends to. In my sonogram we were able to view the...sex of our baby, Jethro. Jenny pulled herself up the bed and closer to her lover, laying a small kiss to his cheek, waiting for his response.

A smile crossed his face as she spoke but he said nothing. He laid his hand on her stomach, it was the first time he had since she had been pregnant. Now that he had sorted most of the things out in his life he was okay with this. He knew that no one could ever replace Kelly. He wrapped his other arm around her as she snuggled into him. He returned the peck but on the top of her head. He turned his head in her direction and just forgot about the pecking for a moment as he kissed her just as passionately as he had that day in his office that led to this whole mess in the first place.
He tossed his hand through her hair and rolled over as he supported his arms over top of her and smiled down at her. He playfully pulled the pillow back over her eyes so she couldn't see before he began to tickle her. He got into childish moods when she was around, it was one of those things that he couldn't change about himself no matter how hard he tried or ow much she disliked it. He was still as stubborn and hard headed as he could be, when he thought he needed to be or it still just sort of happened.

A serene smile flitted across her features glad that he had finally waded through the tumultous waves of his past grievances. Her hand moved unconsciously to rest upon the man's own hand. For the briefest of moments, Jenny's face held a small frown, mildly upset that he hadn't inquired further. When he moved above her and began to atack her sides, she refused to let in and st her jaw firmly so she wouldn't laugh. She determined to remain silent and moody until he decided to speak.
