L. Jethro Gibbs When Push comes to shove. You taste what you're made of. You might bend til you break
Jethro looked to the seat that so many had occupied before him. This wasn't going to be a walk in the park, and he knew it. He sat down wondering why they had left him in charge of this place. He knew he was a good agent and a good team leader, but diplomacy with other agencies, definitely NOT his thing. He tapped his pencil on the desk as he looked to all the paperwork on his desk. It was worse than a probies load. He was NOT looking forward to this either.
He grabbed his coffee taking a sip, and then began reading into the paperwork. He had to do it, he had no one else to shove the workload on like he was used to doing. He rolled his head and heavied a heavy sigh. This was going to get to him one of these days, he had given Jenny and Leon so much stuff to handle when they sat here, and he had to deal with DiNozzo, not a much better trade really.

Anthony DiNozzoGibbs: (looking at his cell phone) Identity withheld. Tony: Probably the reason you married her. I mean, she probably hid her real personality, as most women do, and by that time it was too late 'cause you'd already... I'm gonna shut up now. Gibbs: Now? DiNozzo waltzed past Cynthia, throwing a wink her way. The receptionist rose from her desk. "Agent DiNozzo, you can't go in there. Jethro is really busy..." It fell on deaf ears ofcourse as Tony burst through the door on an unsuspecting Gibbs, Cynthia close behind him. "Im sorry sir, I couldn't stop him" Tony laughed. Oh Cynthia... Someone has to remind him that I am still around! He watched her as she disappeared out the door, eyes on her butt ofcourse. As the door closed off access, they diverted to Gibbs at his desk. Sooooooo Boss.... How you liking being the Direck-tor? He leaned on the desk casually. He was certainly loving being Team Leader ofcourse so hopefully Jethro wasn't planning on coming back soon. Tony was first to admit, however, that he missed those headslaps and his boss sneaking up on him!

"You need something DiNozzo?" he asked standing up from his desk, it was a Gibbs like thing to do whenever anyone got close to his desk, he would rather look someone in the eye. He set down his paperwork and looked directly to DiNozzo."You came up here to chat? Don't you have work to be doing?"he asked coming from around the other side of his desk to same side as DiNozzo."Did you think when you were coming through that door?" he asked with a raised brow. He thought about headslapping DiNozzo but he was going to wait for some lame remark before doing so, he usually didn't headslap him for his actions these days.
He grabbed some paperwork and slide it to the edge of the desk, it was paperwork that DiNozzo had written up. It was a decent size stack. "I still can't read your handwriting, The elevator and stairs do not keep me from sending it back. Send it back up when I can read it." he stated. The man was clearly agitated about something and it was beginning to show.
He stood there face to face with DiNozzo in the same intimidating manner that he was so good at. He raised a brow wondering what Tony was really doing up in his office, he knew DiNozzo better than to come up and make small talk with him, so he figured he was hiding something.

Well no... He got a shock from Gibbs' sudden movement. Hell, he didn't know why he came up here for. Well... yeah but.... He couldn't get the words out. There were too many questions flying around and Gibbs' stare was still as creepy as it was the first day he stared at him. He edged away from the desk as Gibbs' neared him, like a scared rabbit. Well.. no boss. I don't get paid to think.... actually I do... I knew I was missing SOMETHING!... He was expecting the headslap but that would feel needed right now.
He sighed when Gibbs' passed him back his reports. What if... my handwriting suddenly changed overnight... like McGee had wrote it? He smirked playfully, wondering whether he could actually get away with that. He coughed before shutting the door that was suddenly behind him, he didn't realise he'd moved towards it that fast over so little time. In all seriousness Boss, you look pissed. I just wanted to make sure... you were alright. You know, we miss you down there... all the time, watching us like some sexual deviant. Just wanted you to know that, that's all Boss.....
Tony rarely opened up like that, being a rather private person with all that emotional stuff. He usually hid it behind his jokes and sexual behaviour!
((Sorry if its lame!))

Gibbs however come and slap him in the back of the head. "Your handwriting doesn't just change overnight Dinozzo" he bellowed as he then wandered over to his boxes and started putting a few things out. "You can still find me up here, If you need me, its only an elevator ride" he stated flatly. Gibbs had a rather off habit of going up the elevator to the office and Down the staircase. He was a creature of habit and very odd habits they were. He sipped on his coffee.
"There will be some changes around here, and you better be on your game DiNozzo because that team might need some campfires over the next few days." he stated as a matter of factly. "You keep them together down there, thats your job now, not mine."Gibbs had enough on his plate with international affairs and interagency issues. He narrowed his eyes at Tony waiting for the poor kid to say something.
(Gah mine is bad plah)

DiNozzo felt a firm but familiar hand behind his head. He actually wondered whether these slaps were doing more damage than good after so many! A small voice came from his throat as Gibbs walked away from him, barely a whisper It could...
He didn't answer to his reassurance... if that was what it was. He wanted to prove he didn't need help... but he didn't want to completely ruin his chance with the team. He needed to prove himself. He just nodded as Gibbs pulled things out of boxes, still unpacking it seemed.
He listened to the lecture, back in the day he'd probably have zoned out of it. He made sense... Gibbs always did! He had to grow up and be a Team Leader not Senior Field Agent of olden times. Right boss. I know it's just... hard to get used to, you know. He shrugged a little. He knew he had to prove himself a worthy boss to McGee. All the times he'd teased him, it was bonding to DiNozzo. He needed that trust from him and he needed to treat the girls with more respect. Maybe stop begging kate to wear shorter skirts.... that sorta thing...

Gibbs gave him a sideways brow as he spoke. "You did a damn fine job while I was in Mexico DiNozzo, If I didn't think you could do it I wouldn't have given you the team. Just take care of them. I don't need Kate or Ziva up here in tears, dragging me back down there or attempting to." he needed to separate the two, MCRT would always be his team deep down, he would still watch out for them, perhaps alot more than any of the past director'd did. He just knew keeping Tony out of trouble was one thing, while his agency dealings were another.
He set up some frames on the desk and tossed some things into drawers. His gun and badge among them. He locked the drawer and put the key in his pocket. He didn't think he would need the gun and badge but it was necessary at times and he knew that just as the other directors had. And everyone knew Gibbs couldn't stay out of cases very long.

Tony looked straight at Jethro as he spoke, interupting him quickly before he had a chance to opt out of speaking at all! ... because I knew you'd come back. I knew you'd fix the things I'd mess up. Now, now it's up to me Boss. And I promise, I aint gonna let you down...
He watched his boss unpacking his gun and badge. He knew he'd have them ready for the cases he'll try and munster in on that he isn't supposed to. He was gonna head towards the door, to leave the Director in peace... unless Jethro needed him for anything else. He turned sharply, grabbing the papers off his desk. And these'll be back on your desk in the morning... hopefully in something you can read. We know how your eyes are getting... He pulled a little smirk at his boss.

"DiNozzo, enough! Get out of here" he stated as he lurked his eyes narrowing at the team leader. He knew DiNozzo could do it and he didn't need to reassure him every 5 minutes, yes he would probably trip and fall a few times, but that would be that. He scooted his hands towards the door in a rushing motion to shoo the crazy one out the door. He had work to do and he he was going to set his mind to it here in a moment. Despite all the boxes.
He sat down and started working on the other stack of paperwork he had. "Tony! Take this one too ! he said slamming it on the desk as Tony turned to leave. He shook his head, his eyes weren't getting better but his glasses helped but Tony's handwriting was horrid,he should be used to getting all his paperwork back by now.

He laughed a little as Gibbs shooed him out of his office. He knew Gibbs was being harsh and upfront but Tony needed that push to get him into gear. He nearly dissappeared out the door when Gibbs shouted back for him. Oh... right.... thanks boss! He was slightly downhearted that he had to redo ALL of his reports but nonetheless - a job is a job.
He turned back to the door, locking it behind him as he left. He took the elevator down to the next floor. Knowing him, he's trip and paperwork would go everywhere! He passed McGee's desk, placing the wadd of papers on his own desk... well his new one. he never knew why he couldn't have just kept his old comfy desk! He took McGee's inquisitive look and answered with one word. Handwriting...
