Tony didn't take the comfort too well. He shouldn't have to be comforted over the woman he'd always desired. He was Anthony DiNozzo - East Coast Playboy (in Jen's own words!) and he should have been strong and beable to deal with it on his own - but he wasn't strong and he wasn't alone. He was italian and Italians had pride, just his wasn't quite shining through right now! He felt a bit forced to take a paternity test but he knew it was essential, especially for the case at hand. They needed to know whether the fight was indeed over him. He gave just a little smile and nodded when she spoke of Addy. He had started to grow quite attached to the little mite. Maybe because she reminded him of Jeanne and not himself! Addy The little girl looked up from her barbies when Gibbs greeted her. He looked so friendly and nice that she nodded, taking his hand to get up from her kneeled position on the floor. She waved goodbye to McGee as she headed towards the office. She smiled when he mentioned Tony would be there, she liked Tony alot! When the door opened, she spotted him. Tony! She giggled, running over. Tony lifted her up, propping her up on Gibbs' desk. A slight look almost asked for permission for doing so. Hey! Did you have fun with McGee? She nodded. He's not very good playing Barbies though! Tony smiled before speaking again. This is Jenny, she wants to ask you a few things about what happened the other night. Is that okay? Addy nodded and looked to the redhaired woman. She was very pretty, like a doll. ((sorry it sucks!))

Jenny Shepard Love makes us act like we are fools. Throw our lives away. For one, happy day. Jenny smiled sweetly when Gibbs came back into the room with the child trotting behind; she was cute, definitely reminded her of Jeanne, and looked quite content. Her eyes flicked to Tony when he spoke and her eyes sparkled when he appeared happier and started conversation with the girl. Jen walked over to Addy sitting on the Director's desk and nodded her head, after Tony gave an introduction. "Hi, Addy," she said, holding out her hand. "My name, as Tony just said, is Jenny. I am the Secretary of the Navy. Gibbs' boss." Jen motioned her head in the man's direction for emphasis. She waited for the girl's response, hoping she didn't frighten or intimidate her. She would ask questions in a few moments. ((Short for now, mainly 'cause I'm in a class and we will be getting out shortly. And I don't know what else to write right now...))

Addy looked up as the nice lady spoke to her. She listened carefully, trying to get the names to the faces she was seeing. Hi. Her voice so innocent for the trauma that was surrounding her. Her blue eyes flicked to Tony for mere seconds before looking back to this woman called Jenny. Jenny, is my mommy going to get better?
Tony's eyes fell on both Gibbs and Jenny before looking away towards the floor, anywhere apart from at Addy at the moment. He didn't want to scare her and he didn't want to make promises incase he was wrong. She was stable when she saw her but she was still in alot of pain.
-incredibly lame sorry guys!-

Jenny Shepard Until the day I die I'll spill my heart for you Until the day I die Jen smiled at the child and slowly nodded her head in response, formulating her words carefully; being sure not to scare Addy or make an empty promise. "The hospital will take good care of her. Your mother is in excellent hands, Addy." The older woman observed the girl, hopeful that no doubt or worry was placed inside her mind. It was a very precarious situation and she knew the need to tread lightly needn't be said twice. Jenny smiled softly again and asked her first question. "Do you know the man who was fighting with your Mommy?" she asked sweetly. ((brain cramps...))

Addy seemed to ease slightly when Jenny assured her that her mother would be fine where she was. It didn't stop her from snuggling into the arm of the Team Leader however. He was familiar to her - only by his strange involvement with her mother. If her mother thought he was good enough to have his number in her pocket, then he was good enough for her to trust in a room full of strangers.
It took Tony by suprise however, though he didn't back away from her actions. He gave his arm to her for the meantime. Interrogation was a hard thing to go through, he would be the first to admit that! Addy shook her head violently as Jenny asked her question. She had never met the man before: it was always just her and mommy. Noone else. She liked staying at her Aunties every weekend to bake cakes... maybe mommy had met him then?

Jenny Shepard But it's warm inside his eyes And it's soft inside his eyes And he burns you with his eyes And you're studied like the light. The woman smiled at the small but powerful gesture Addy just executed and glanced at Tony, wondering how he took the security gesture towards him. Jenny nodded in response to the head shaking answer the girl gave her. Could you please tell me the story from the beginning? Only what you remember, okay? Not what your mommy said to you," she stated as clearly as she thought, kind of pulling a judge thing and wanting no 'here say'. ((Gah, short...)

Addy made a small sigh, complimented with a shrug of her shoulders. She didn't like reminiscing about what happened but if it helped... I was in the yard, playing with my dollies and I heard a loud noise. I went to see what it was and my mommy was on the floor and she was bleeding. There was a man there and he was lying on the floor not moving. Mommy was crying and she looked upset. She told me to ring for someone and she give me a little book with numbers in. A piece of paper fell out of it and i rang the number on it and... it was Tony. Her eyes were at the floor the whole time she spoke until she mentioned the Agents name, raising her eyes to his face and hoping he wasn't mad at her; she'd gotten rather attached to the Team Leader.
Tony's eyes met with Jen's, giving a slight nod to confirm the girl's story. Well, it was what she'd told him on the phone anyway!

Jenny Shepard Until the day I die I'll spill my heart for you Until the day I die Jenny nodded her head in response, making sure Addy knew she was listening intently. 'So she called Tony on a whim? A piece of paper falling out that caught her eye?' Jenny was skeptical, mildly curious as to the odds of that happening. She formed her words slowly in her mind, watching the girl still clinging to the grown man. "Your mommy didn't TELL you to call that number on the paper? You did because you could?" she asked, clearly and calmly, keeping her words pristine and clear-cut. Jen nodded back at Tony, acknowledging his affirmation. Not too many more questions were to be had and then the woman planned to get Addy some food maybe and simply talk about meaningless things. Allow the agents to do their job and spend time with the girl.

Addy shook her head as the nice lady asked her next question. Mommy told me to ring somebody and I didn't know the number for the 'hozbidal'. It was the first number I could find Tony almost smirked when she tried to pronounce Hospital but he stopped himself. He couldn't admit that he was getting attached to the girl, that was sooo not like him at all! His eyes landed back on Gibbs, wondering how he would be taking in all the information and what he was thinking about it. Gibbs was hard to read, unless you were Abby ofcourse! He turned his attention back to the mini-interview in session
-Incredibly lame, sorry!-

Jenny Shepard Love makes us act like we are fools. Throw our lives away. For one, happy day. Jen smiled, glad the girl wasn't alarmed or annoyed quite yet. It was a whim that she called Tony. Oh well... She glanced at Tony and narrowed her eyes. This wasn't good. She looked back at the girl. "Okay. I think I got what I needed. Do you want to get something to eat, Addy? And hang out with me for a bit?" she asked, planning on giving the Team Leader one last piece of advice after receiving a reply from the child.

Tony caught a glimpse of the narrowed look from his SecNav and he knew he was in trouble for some reason or another. So father and daughter had met by coincidence, not on purpose. He looked down at Addy as she was propositioned for a trip out for food and company. Her eyes sparkled, it was clear Addy was incredibly social so just "hanging out" was like heaven to her. Yes please! Im really hungry... A laugh slipped out from Tony - she had to be Tony's kid with an ferocious appetite like hers! Who needed paternity tests?! He helped Addy slide off the desk and watched as the little girl slipped her hand into the older woman's. He hung around, waiting for the comment he expected from his superior.

Jenny Shepard Until the day I die I'll spill my heart for you Until the day I die Jenny smiled at the cute gesture and squeezed Addy's hand slightly. They walked past Tony and the older woman muttered under her breath to avoid the possibility of being heard and questioned, "Do not get attached. That is an order from the Secretary of the Navy." When she spoke the words that needed so desperately to be heard, she had looked him directly in the eyes, and said what she needed in a steely, controlled voice. She smiled briefly at Gibbs. "See ya later," Jen said as she exited the room with Addy, talking about where they could go eat or what they could go after lunch. ((What now? A thread with Jenny and Addy or wait for a place where Jenny's needed again? And I'm really indecisive so please choose.))

((Sure. I can show off Jenny's more sensitive side. Well, with children anyways. But it should probably be away from the main case area.))
